JOB TITLE: Computer Aide
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
 
SUMMARY DESCRIPTION:
- Properly trained paraprofessionals can play important roles in improving student achievement in schools where they can reinforce and enhance a teacher's effort in the classroom.  A Computer Aide supports students with technology and grade-level computer skills, while also supporting staff with troubleshooting technology-related needs.
 
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead groups of students or classes of students through an established computer curriculum
 
- Planning lessons and activities that facilitate students' acquisition of basic and advanced computer skills.
 
- Instructing in a manner that develops students' confidence in their technical abilities.
 
- Observing and managing classroom dynamics
 
- Tracking and communicating students’ progress in technology skills
 
- Support and implement all policies and regulations as designed by each respective school and NLCS.
 
- Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of classroom teachers.
 
- Planning for student needs in collaboration with building administrator, teachers, and district E-coaches.
 
- Continue professional learning within Google Workspace (formerly Google Suite).
 
- Is positive in working with children and helps build their self-esteem.
 
- Guides students in working with other students.
 
- Has the ability to make use of a variety of resources to assist students in meeting their goals.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2  years if passing college credits is preferred or Pass ParaProfessional Test
 
- Valid Driver's License 
 
- Pass a background check

- Possess knowledge and a solid understanding of Google Workplace
 
- Skillful in creating and managing Google Classroom
 
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem-solve technology needs related to software or hardware
